In a future of forever, thought is tentacular, intelligence is kaleidoscopic. In a future of everything, we are digital-ecological assemblages, hybrids living cyborg co-existences.
In this everything-future, landscapes entwine themselves with human bodies. The veins of a leaf re-emerge in the whorl of a hand. The pink interior of the oesophagus is a wet cave lit by enquiring eyes. Old epistemologies are revealed in rubbing a handful of mud over flesh, and the reach of the alien mind through the cosmos feels uncannily familiar.
Here the biopoetics of mythologies enter the collective imagination, multiplying stories of metamorphosis. Narratives splinter, revealing the biases in the tales we were told by our institutions. The glaring light of history, meeting the glistening facets of a prism, breaks into infinite strands of glowing colour.
In the together-future, our alter egos arrive stepping lightly on the glitches of the scallop shell, and the wriggling of maggots marks a radical rebirth. In the rituals of living, we slip between species and spaces.
A virus unspools like thread through our shared dreams, where the sun is lodged in our bellies and a GIF of the earth spins like water in our brains. We surface into existence enmeshed in medical systems, uncertain members of the pharmaco-capitalist network. A hand reaches out through the darkness, but we are unsure whether to take it.
In the future-past-present of now, everything is forever changing. We are the offspring of mutation. We are inextricably entangled.
